Q and A: How We Work

Q: Does Dr. Palma practice general medicine or specialize?
A: She does both! Dr. Palma practices the basics of Primary Care and excels in Disease Reversal thanks to her training in Functional Medicine and Environmental Medicine.

Q: How many visits do most people need?
A: The first two visits are each 1 hour, usually within two months of each other. Many people will feel much better by the second visit and only require another 30-minute visit in their first year. Some people need a higher level of care and will see Dr. Palma 2 - 4 more times in the same year (usually for 30-minute visits).

Q: How much does it cost per visit?
A:For 1 hour: $800, 30 minutes: $450, 10 minute call (for acute issues, short questions) is $150. We do not accept insurance for the visits, however we are able to provide Superbills to submit to insurance for potential reimbursement.

Q: Are labs covered?
A: At the initial visit, Dr. Palma orders a very comprehensive Functional Medicine blood panel (similar to the one you would get from Function Health, for example). This blood panel is covered by most health insurance plans. Sometimes Dr. Palma orders other specialty testing as well.

Q: What types of problems does Dr. Palma see most?
A: Dr. Palma sees the gamut of Primary Care problems and is very good at getting to the bottom of mystery syndromes, but there are some problems she has had extra reps with over the years: Gut issues (bloating, IBS, IBD), chronic fatigue and brain fog, autoimmune diseases, hormone problems, weight loss resistance and other metabolic disorders, anxiety and depression, skin disorders like acne and psoriasis, thyroid disorders, toxic exposures, and chronic viruses, bacterial and fungal infections.
